VOLUNTEER

Save the Meadow

Thanks to the volunteers that helped clear out some of the saplings in the Meadow. Rob and Dave from Smuckers and a new member, Mike E. lend their strength.

Five ladies joined the men, but it was Suze that got weighted-down by briars.

A big thanks to Ken and Travis for bringing your trucks and trailers.

2023 Volunteers of the Year

Apple Creek Scout Troop #69

At the spring clean-up, we had over 20 volunteers come out to help get the park ready for the season.  This year we had some great help from Smuckers Company from Orrville.  Pictured is the group from Smuckers lead by Christopher Lawson, the Apple Creek Scouts Troop 69 and others from Friends of the Park.  Thank you all!

We hope you will consider volunteering to help us keep the Barnes Preserve looking great! We invite all ages that are able to help out.

If you have a skill or are comfortable with a certain piece of equipment, please let us know. Chainsaws are sometimes needed throughout spring, summer, and fall as large trees are downed by the wind.

Check out the pictures below – great volunteers have been instrumental in getting the Barnes Preserve developed and maintained!
