LEADERSHIP
FRIENDS OF THE PARKS DISTRICT
The public is invited to all meetings which are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm at Buehler’s Milltown Community Room.
The Friends of Wayne County Parks are dedicated to the preservation and enrichment of natural areas in Wayne County for the benefit of current and future residents. Our natural areas provide us with access to natural environments and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Since its founding, the Wayne County Parks District has been blessed with a dedicated group of volunteers, the Friends of Wayne
County Parks. Through the work of the Friends, the Barnes Preserve has become a place where many residents connect with
nature in varied habitats and on accessible trails. Volunteer contributions by the Friends include maintaining the Preserve, providing financial support for many projects, offering educational opportunities, and expanding public awareness of the Parks District. The Friends group plays a critical role in assisting the Parks District. The Friends group looks forward to the creation of more nature parks across the county.
